Babe Ruth Birthplace & Museum : Responsive Website Redesign

The Babe Ruth Birthplace & Museum in Baltimore, Maryland required a modern digital presence that could better reflect its cultural significance and support visitor engagement. The existing website lacked visual consistency with the museum’s updated brand identity and was not fully optimized for use across desktop and mobile devices, limiting accessibility for tourists, students, and researchers.

Following the development of the museum’s new identity system, I wanted to extend the brand into a digital environment that was equally thoughtful, functional, and historically respectful. My goal was to create a website experience that felt educational and welcoming while making information easy to navigate for a wide range of users.

I redesigned the museum’s website with a focus on responsive, user-centered design and brand cohesion. The interface was structured to scale seamlessly across desktop, tablet, and mobile platforms, ensuring consistent usability regardless of device.

I redesigned the museum’s website with a focus on responsive, user-centered design and brand cohesion. The interface was structured to scale seamlessly across desktop, tablet, and mobile platforms, ensuring consistent usability regardless of device. The visual system directly corresponds to the established identity suite, incorporating the redesigned logo, color palette, typography, and architectural references to maintain continuity between physical and digital touchpoints. I reorganized content to prioritize key visitor needs such as hours, ticketing, exhibits, location, and historical context, while maintaining clear hierarchy and intuitive navigation.

The final outcome is a clean, responsive website design that strengthens the museum’s digital presence and reinforces its brand identity. The redesigned interface improves accessibility, readability, and engagement while presenting the institution a

The final outcome is a clean, responsive website design that strengthens the museum’s digital presence and reinforces its brand identity. The redesigned interface improves accessibility, readability, and engagement while presenting the institution as both historically significant and contemporary. The site functions as an informative resource, a promotional tool, and an extension of the museum experience.

This project strengthened my skills in responsive web design, information architecture, and designing within an established brand system. It demonstrated the importance of translating visual identity into functional digital experiences and reinforced how thoughtful UI design can enhance the way audiences interact with cultural institutions.
